Van Gog was established as a platform (Van Gog Service) where you can share your music suggestions with the aim of socializing through music and exchanging music culture.

Van Gog OÜ ("Van Gog", "we", and "us") respects the privacy of its users and has developed its Privacy Policy to show the importance it attaches to your privacy.

This Privacy Policy contains information about the personal information we collect, how this personal information can be used, and options related to collection and using your personal information protected by us.

By using the Van Gog app, you agree that we are providing you with a platform for sharing music (Gogging) through Spotify Premium, and this sharing will be public.

Your personal information that we collect

Personal information you provide directly;

  • Your user name, password, and email address you enter while registering to Van Gog app as a user.

  • In order to login to the app or to register as a user, you are requested to login by using your Facebook details. When you do this, you give us access to some Facebook account details, including your public Facebook profile (depending on your privacy settings on Facebook), e- mail address, interests, likes, gender, date of birth, educational background, relationship preferences, your city, photos, personal description, friend list, as well as information and photos of your Facebook friends who might be your common friends with other Van Gog users through Facebook.

  • When you download or use the app, you are also asked to allow Van Gog to collect your location data from the device and to use the camera.

  • Spotify Premium membership is required in order to share music in the app. When you share through your membership, you grant access to Spotify account details. (i.e. your name and surname, date of birth, membership type, country, e-mail address)

  • Profile details you provided for your user profile. (i.e. your name and surname, your photo, your education, your job and your age)

  • It contains lifestyle details such as comments, photos, videos, profiles, etc. disclosing your ethnic origin, nationality, religion and/or sexual orientation which you provide upon your request or you communicate when you correspond with other users.

  • By using the services, you grant us the authority to collect, review and store the data regarding the offering of services.

  • Communications between you and Van Gog; i.e. we can send you notifications related to verifying your account, changes/updates in the features of Van Gog, technical and safety notifications.

Cookies and similar technologies

When you visit Van Gog, we can use cookies and similar technologies such as pixels, web beacons or local storage to gather information about how you use the app and to provide you with features.

How we use the personal information we collect

We can use your personal information we collect for the following purposes:

Personal Information Shared with Other Users; When you sign up as a Van Gog user, your Van Gog profile will be visible to other users of the app. Other users (users who have joined the Radar on Van Gog and share) will be able to see your Facebook photos which you share with us directly or through Facebook, other photos you have uploaded, your first name, age, approximate distance, personal description, and music information you have Gogged.

We do not share your personal information with any third party organization.

If we believe that the law requires us to do so, we may access, store, and share your personal information to fulfill a legal request (such as a search warrant, court order, or summons). We can also access, store and share your personal information in order to detect, prevent and solve any fraudulent and illegal acts, to protect ourselves, you and others from the situations including investigations, and to prevent death or possible physical injuries in good faith.

Data storage

We take commercially reasonable security measures to safeguard the data collected through the Van Gog app. However, as Van Gog, we can't guarantee the security of the personal information

you transfer to the app, nor can we guarantee that the personal information contained in Van Gog is inaccessible, undisclosed, unalterable or indestructible.

If you close your account, we will be keeping certain information for analysis purposes and for account integrity in order take the measures we consider as required and to take other measures allowed by the laws to prevent fraud and to protect the integrity of our service or our users.

Changes you make in the services of social media services you connect to Van Gog can also affect your privacy settings.
